Mike Brown is a 22 year retired veteran of the Tulsa Police Department. He has been an accomplished athlete becoming a Division I wrestler from Cornell, a national champion in IDPA at the expert level and has made the top 5 in the Master Class division at IDPA nationals. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Jean Jacq Machado and a world champion at the IBJJF brown belt masters. He currently teaches Criminal Justice in the Tulsa OK area. With all of these accomplishments likely his best attribute is being an eminently qualified coach.
This show we welcome back Mike to focus on JiuJitsu. We talk about Mike’s journey, his most important mentors in that journey, we hit on some of the frustrations that all of us have including black belts like Mike, and go deeply into the use of video instruction for improvement. We also talk about Mikes new shooting venture, Steel Challenge.
